In the dark early morning hours, New York City was illuminated with the tower of One World Trade Center rising up, illuminated in red, white and blue to the left, the Statue of Liberty in the center and the Tribute in Light on the right, where the Twin Towers once stood.
One of the more eye-opening things coming out this 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks is this report from The New York Times about the emergency and FAA audio tapes that crossed the airs on the morning of 9/11/2001. The full-transcript with audio is remarkable in its chilling detail of the confusion and events of the day.
NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the World Trade Center site and the State Capitol will fly this flag above during the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
The flag, pictured above, features the silhouetted World Trade Center towers inside of the Pentagon, with the words “We Remember” underneath and surrounded by 40 gold stars, representing those who were killed on United Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Hope someone will call 911 before “The World’s Strongest Redneck” tries this again.
